Weekly Discussion: Kuraray Welcome Video Project

Kuraray America is a global leader in specialty chemical, fiber and resin production. In November of 2013 they announced that they had reached an agreement to acquire the Glass Laminating Solutions/Vinyls division of DuPont. This business division, along with Kuraray, is a leading producer of polyvinyl alcohol, among other things. Kuraray began construction last year on a new polyvinyl alcohol plant to prepare for the purchase of DuPont and poise for continued expansion. Along with the purchase of this company comes the on-boarding of over 600 former DuPont employees. Kuraray decided that in order to welcome these employees, they would produce a video which would showcase their dedication to their employees and to innovation in the polyvinyl alcohol business. They partnered with POP Video to create something that could be used for the welcome party as well as to be distributed to each new employee and to be put on their website for viewing by future employees.

Kuraray has been building their video portfolio with POP Video now for over two years. They have amassed resources which have yielded products to include promotional and branding videos, trade show loops, safety videos and special event show casings. In order to bolster their archive for future use, POP Video collaborated with Kuraray to strategically capture video not only for the immediate need of the welcome video, but also in anticipation of future use for recruiting purposes. This cut down on production time and will yield a larger amount of consistent products in the future.
